Shanghai Katalor is one of the enterprises first to develop and produce tool and die steels. The steels are produced with an electric arc or ladle-refining furnace, an 'RH' or vacuum degassing furnace, and a continuous or ingot casting process, followed by electro-slag remelting for refining.
