5CrNiMo hot working die steel plates are a type of high-quality, high-strength, low-alloy structural steel with numerous notable characteristics and a wide range of applications across multiple industrial sectors.
Characteristics
Chemical Composition: The chemical composition of 5CrNiMo steel is meticulously balanced, consisting primarily of carbon (C) at 0.50%~0.60%, silicon (Si) ≤ 0.40%, manganese (Mn) at 0.50%~0.80%, phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.03%, sulfur (S) ≤ 0.03%, chromium (Cr) at 0.5%~0.8%, nickel (Ni) at 1.4%~1.8%, and molybdenum (Mo) at 0.15%~0.30%. These elements collectively contribute to the steel's exceptional properties.
Excellent Mechanical Properties: This steel grade exhibits high strength, high hardness, good toughness, and wear resistance. Its tensile strength is ≥980MPa, yield strength is ≥785MPa, elongation is ≥12%, and impact toughness is ≥55J. After appropriate heat treatment, the hardness can be increased to HRC53~58.
Good Hardenability: Large-sized 5CrNiMo steel materials can maintain uniform hardness across their cross-sections after heat treatment, which is particularly important for manufacturing large, complex-shaped molds.
Insensitive to Temper Brittleness: After slow cooling at 600℃, the impact toughness of 5CrNiMo steel decreases only slightly, broadening its application range.
Good Thermal Stability: At room temperature and temperatures between 500~600℃, its mechanical properties remain almost unchanged, making it suitable for manufacturing molds that need to withstand high temperatures and complex stress environments.
Good Processability and Weldability: 5CrNiMo steel can be welded using common welding methods and exhibits good plasticity and machinability.
Applications
Manufacturing Large and Medium-sized Forging Dies: Such as hammer forging dies, trimming dies, etc. These dies play a crucial role in industrial production, capable of enduring high-intensity impact loads and complex working environments.
