60CrMnA Characteristics and scope of application

60CrMnA spring steel has higher strength, ductility and toughness, better hardenability, lower sensitivity than manganese steel and higher than silicon-manganese steel. The decarburization tendency of 60CrMnA steel is smaller than that of silicon-manganese steel, and the temper brittleness is large.< /p>

The appropriate tempering temperature and cooling rate of 60CrMnA Spring Steel should be selected; generally, 60CrMnA is used in the quenching and medium temperature tempering state for the production of heavy-loaded, heavily stressed leaf springs and large diameter spiral springs in the vehicle and tractor industries.

Heat treatment specification: quenching 830~860 °C, oil cooling; tempering 460~520 °C.

Hot-rolled steel is delivered in heat-treated or non-heat-treated condition, and cold-drawn steel is delivered in heat-treated state.
