4Cr13 Alloy Steel Bars Characteristics
Alloy 4Cr13 is equivalent to AISI 420, DIN X42Cr13 (1.2083), JIS SUS420J2. 4Cr13 steel bar is a kind of stainless steel with high hardness and good abrasive resistance.
4Cr13 Alloy Steel Bars Characteristics:
1.Good corrosion resistance.
2. Quenching-tempering hardness HRC>50, super mirror-like production.
3. Prehardened to HRC30-36, good machability and little deformation.
4Cr13 Stainless Steel Specifications :
Flat bars: 12-90mm*100-610mm.
Round bars: Φ12-Φ500mm.
Forged flat bars: 100-600mm.
Annealing:
Protect the steel and heat through to 880℃. Then cool in the furnace at 20℃ per hour to 840℃, then at 10℃ per hour to 700℃, then freely in air.
Quenching:
1. Preheating temperature: 500-800℃.
2. Austenitizing temperature: 1020-1100℃, but usually 1030-1060℃.
3. Protect the part against decarburization and oxidation during quenching.
Tempering:
Choose the tempering temperature according to the hardness required by reference to the tempering graph. Temper twice with intermediate cooling to room temperature. Tempering temperature at 200-300℃ and air cool, hardness HRC50-52. Lowest tempering temperature 250℃. Holding time at temperature minimum 2 hours.
Applications of 4Cr13: Plastic mould in corrosion contain F and combustion-resisting matter (contain C1).
