20G thick-walled seamless steel tubes are seamless tubes made from low-carbon steel, commonly used in high-pressure boilers, petrochemicals, and the power industry.
Material and Chemical Composition:
20G steel is a high-quality carbon structural steel, with primary chemical components including carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), etc.
Low carbon content (approximately 0.17-0.24%) ensures good weldability and machinability while providing sufficient strength and toughness.
Complies with Chinese standard GB/T 5310 (Seamless Steel Tubes for High-Pressure Boilers) or similar standards.
Thick-walled Design:
The wall thickness to outer diameter ratio of thick-walled seamless steel tubes is typically less than 20 (i.e., thicker walls), enabling them to withstand high pressure, high temperatures, and complex stress environments.
Uniform wall thickness is critical, directly affecting the quality and service life of the tubes. Uniform thickness ensures stability and safety under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
Manufacturing Process:
Produced using hot rolling or hot extrusion processes, and in some cases, cold drawing is applied for finishing to improve dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
The hot rolling process provides high strength, suitable for high-pressure environments; cold drawing further enhances dimensional precision and surface smoothness.
Mechanical Properties:
20G steel exhibits good tensile strength (approximately 410-550 MPa) and yield strength (approximately 245 MPa), with specific values depending on the heat treatment condition.
Good toughness and plasticity make it suitable for long-term operation under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, such as in boiler pipelines or petroleum cracking pipelines.
High-Temperature and High-Pressure Resistance:
Designed specifically for high-temperature and high-pressure environments, suitable for operating temperatures up to 450-500°C, such as in high-pressure boilers, superheaters, and reheaters.
Effectively resists thermal and mechanical stresses, extending service life.
